How to drink enough water without forgetting to.  I’ve always forgotten to drink a lot of water for most of my life, I just drank it when I was really thirsty or while I was working out, and I always thought I was drinking enough, but I was wrong.  We all know how important it is to drink plenty of water.

So, today I discovered a way, rather my 7 year old daughter did, to never forget to drink what you are supposed to drink every day, a lot of water.

Here’s how it works.

We all know, or at least I’ve been told, that you need to drink at least half of your body weight in ounces.  So, if you weigh 200 lbs you should drink 100 oz of water daily.  It will help you to not only stay properly hydrated, it will help you to lose weight, to clear toxins from your body and in general to help you stay as healthy as humanly possible.  You need to hydrate all those cells.  If you don’t, you risk damaging cells.

I weigh 218 so I’m pounding 109 oz daily currently while my daughter Maddie weighs 69 lbs so she’s putting about 35 oz down a day.

Step 1 – Buy bottles or jugs that show the ounces labeled on the bottle so you can keep track throughout the day how much you’ve consumed.  Get one with a carry handle or strap.

 

Step 2 – Buy one or more large water storage containers (ours is 7 gallons) and keep it somewhere in the house like the kitchen where it’s readily accessible for refills.  Refill it immediately when it’s empty.

Step 3 – Pick a partner.  Find somebody close to you that wants to experience this venture together.  This is the most important piece of this puzzle.

Step 4 – Create a schedule and set your alarm or text or call or whatever to remind each other to drink.

Step 5 – When you drink, count to 10 slowly like 10 or 15 seconds and then confirm that you’ve done it with your partner.  Hold your partner responsible for drinking their fair share for that day based on the number of time increments and total ounces they need to drink.  If they fail, find another partner.
