Cargo Net for a Passenger Van
People ask us daily why we don’t have a vertical cargo net off the shelf for passenger vans like Transits, Sprinters, Caravans and the like. Our simple answer is…everything is just too expensive right now.

We have all the design work done for various applications/vehicles, but we’re just not quite there yet. If somebody else takes on the project, that’s even better for us given we can just sell it virtually without holding inventory as we’ve been doing generally for 22 years and we’ll still make a good margin. If that day never comes, that’s fine, we’ll see what happens.
At this point, we’re hesitant given the current economic climate, regardless of the fact that we’re the pioneers of heavy duty vertical cargo nets for passenger vans like Mercedes and Dodge Sprinter, Ford Transit, Dodge Caravan and the Promaster.
While backorder times for custom products have doubled and the supply chain issue is still really messing with everybody’s minds, I think a lot of people like us are concentrating on marketing. Instead of taking on new product and a lot of inventory, as you need to buy minimum quantities from overseas for it to be worth it, we’ve decided to market the products we currently have in stock and keep doing the custom work here in the USA until we can say with confidence that going off the shelf is worth it and it’s time. And when it is time, we’d like to do it here in the USA, not in China.
So, until then, here’s what you need to provide us with regarding mounting a custom vertical cargo net in your passenger van:
- You need to email us your contact information to begin the email string bill@cargocatch.com
- We need the year, make and model of your vehicle and whether it’s a high roof or not
- We need to know where you intend on mounting the cargo net and how
- Send us dimensions between your supposed/tentative anchor points and/or floor anchors
- We will then quote you for the cargo net and any accessories, engineering, shipping
- You pay up front so we can authorize your card if you approve
- We will create a CAD engineering drawing for you to review, edit if necessary and approve
- You choose the color (typically black) of webbing and the color of thread (typically white)
- We go over the final design and hardware configuration
- We make and ship you the net
This process of creating a custom cargo net for a vehicle via phone/email seems difficult, but it’s honestly very easy, it just takes proper information exchange and little bit of creativity. We’ve been making custom cargo nets for trucks, vans and other vehicles for over 20 years.
